An ambitious effort to replace 558 aging bridges in three years across Pennsylvania is coming to Northampton County. The public-private Rapid Bridge Replacement Project is taking aim at both the northbound and southbound bridges carrying Route 33 over Route 22 in Bethlehem Township, starting in spring 2017. A public meeting is scheduled Tuesday to describe the project, construction schedule and traffic changes during the work.
